Hi, I'm Kori. It is incredibly nice to meet you.

Kevin's Two Year Date
Sappy (late) Mother’s Day post time.
I didn’t have long to get to know my Mom, but she was my best friend. Whether we were on horseback or bicycles, or just in the car with the windows down, we were adventurers, and I was her copilot. She passed away due to heart problems when I was 8.
We used to say that the number of the month a person was born in, was their lucky number. She was born in May, so her “lucky number” was five. For the past few years on Mother’s Day, I have written messages on 5 red (her favorite color) balloons, and let them go for her. I know it’s not like she’s going to get them, but it really helps me to be ok with it. I think it is the act of physically letting go.
This year, the flower store was out of red, so I settled for pink because it is just a low intensity red anyway. I tied them to a carnation, said a few words, and let them go over the Columbia river. I watched them until they floated away. It was overcast and rainy out, but for some reason it made the entire event seem a little more beautiful.
I’m not telling you all of this to guilt you into hugging your mom or whatever because everyone has different situations in their lives, I am telling you this as a reminder to really stop, and appreciate the people you love, because you might not always be able to.
Kevin loves me and would do anything for me. I love him too. So much. Yet here I am over here just messing things up and acting like a jackass. I suck.
Also, I went dress shopping for saturday and didn’t find a single thing. Is it a crime to want a dress that hugs my butt just so?
St. Valentine’s Day began as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. The most popular martyrology associated with Saint Valentine was that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire; during his imprisonment, he is said to have healed the daughter of his jailer Asterius. Legend states that before his execution he wrote her a letter “from your Valentine” as a farewell. Today, Saint Valentine’s Day is an official feast day in theAnglican Communion, as well as in the Lutheran Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church also celebrates Saint Valentine’s Day, albeit on July 6th and July 30th, the former date in honor of the Roman presbyter Saint Valentine, and the latter date in honor of Hieromartyr Valentine, the Bishop of Interamna (modern Terni)
And I’m not done shopping.
I have so many cookies to make.
And a house to clean omg.
I get to Skype with my sweetheart when I get off work.
And I am going to look so cute- after all, he hasn’t seen me for 11 months. So excited. I love him so much.
